Shanti Sosienski

shantibike2Have you ever been in a yoga class where they’re chanting, “Shanti, Shanti, Shanti,” the Sanskrit word for peace? That’s actually kind of ironic, because the Shanti we know is such a spitfire that wherever she goes, she’s a lot more likely to disturb the peace than bring it—but in a very, very good way.

She’s the flame behind ZSC, the one who lit the wick of her new friend, Chef Lee Anne Wong (Yes, we’re speaking proverbially of course. Shanti is a man’s lady if there ever was one), and planted the seeds that grew overnight into something much bigger. The thing is, Shanti’s been blazing a trail her entire career, an adventure crazed action sports magazine journalist who’s traveled to the ends of the earth and back, surfing, snowboarding, paragliding, and doing whatever else it is her editors told her to do to get the story. She’s also got this little techno-dork problem that evolved into her own Venice-based marketing company, SOS Communications, which handles everything from web content and site management to what she calls “nerd brokering” (we’ll ask her what that means later because we’re not entirely sure). She’s a mover and a shaker, a true networker, friend, partner in crime, fearless adventurer, talker, doer, and facilitator. We can also tell you this: She definitely has more friends on Facebook than you. Don’t believe us? Go see for yourself.
